My daughter is having a great time recently. A few weeks ago a friend of ours gave her a friendship bracelet starter Kit for her birthday. It basically consists of the material under various patterns to get you started. Now, she’s 10 years old and is at a stage where this is just so exciting and very she is starting to learn how to make bracelets and also having issues with trying to get the knots done properly.
It’s quite interesting to watch because this is exactly how I was when I was a young girl. I was also given a starter kit by my mom, in the beginning I also found it quite difficult to comprehend how to do these things.
The great thing is now that my 10-year-old has access to the Internet and YouTube. By simply watching a video she can see exactly how things are done without having to read a book and learn. It’s quite interesting because they show you step-by-step from the beginning to the end and once you understand the basic fundamentals of making a bracelet the rest is quite easy to understand.
Over the first couple of weeks he spent a bit of time going through everything and learning everything together. It was a bit of a down memory lane for me because it’s something I have not actually done a long time. But, I do remember spending hours and hours practicing the various patterns and of course spending time tried to get my fingers out of the knots that I had done.
My daughter then decided that she was going to make a number of bracelets to raise some money for a local charity. We set about coming up with various different patterns so that every single one would be different. It was amazing the amount of information on different patterns we found on the Internet, just varying slightly you could get a completely different design. We only had two weeks to do this, needed to produce as many different styles and designs as possible. We also recruited one of her friends so that gave us 3 people to get this whole project done. It is something you want to learn quickly and you put yourself under pressure to get something done within the time period it can actually be achieved.
It was great to have access to the various resources on websites who have so much information available. At the end of the two weeks we had achieved our target of friendship bracelets and we sold every single one of them at a charity function. It’s funny to note something I does a child and then worked on this project but my daughter has helped to bring us closer together.
You should spend time looking at friendship bracelet patterns it’s amazing how many different designs you can come up with.
