Defying Age: Where to Get the Best Skin Care

I’m not that old. 26 doesn’t seem ancient to me. But I did grow up with a more mature crowd. My mother was 43 when she had me and I soon came to know that older women, regardless of actual appearance, always want to look at least 20 years younger. I decided at an early age that I never wanted to be the type to get lots of surgeries and peel and the like to make me look younger.

My mom was proud of her aged face, as it showed, in her mind, the result of years of fun in the sun and lots of good times. She did, and does, use great skin care products that I think have helped her now 70 year old face look glowing and beautiful. So following her example I’d like to touch on a few skin care products I feel are worth the money and the results.

Buying expensive facial care products can be risky if you’ve never used them before. I’ve found its good to find a line you like and stick with it. As “old lady” as its sounds I’ve been using a lot of Oil of Olay recently and have found it greatly to my liking. It’s cheaper than stuff you have to by at an actual cosmetics dealer and lasts a long time. I like how smooth it goes on and how soft my face feels all day. I’ve only been using the “Age Defying Moisturizer” and haven’t tried any of their other products, but I’ll probably give more of them a try when I run out of this one.

I grew up using Clinique make-up and moisturizers. For a little more money and Oil of Olay you get a great product that comes from a whole line of effective skin care products. I like the toner I’ve used from them and used the Dramatically Different Moisturizer for years and loved it. My skin is particularly tricky because I’ve spent years in the sun from teaching swimming and I fee like using this product helped to curb the damage from the sun.

Another great line I’ve used extensively is Nu Skin. It’s a little harder to get a hold of as its not sold in retail stored but if you can find a good distributor its worth trying at least once. They make a great line of blemish and acne products that I found particularly useful. And I know most of the older crowd has gone ga-ga over the Galvanic Spa kit.
Finding good make-up is mostly trial and error.

Find what works for you and then stick with that line. Don’t get caught in the “more expensive better” ploy as there are great products that you can buy at grocery stores and drug stores.
