Dave Matthews Band Tickets - New DMB Album Due June 2 Followed by Tour

Dave Matthews Band will release an as-yet-untitled new album June 2 via RCA, although the release was originally expected to arrive in April. Produced by Rob Cavallo, the new DMB album may include songs like “Falling off the Roof,” “Cornbread,” “#27″ and “Round and Round,” which the band has played live since the summer of 2007, although the track listing has not yet been confirmed.

DMB will kick off its annual summer tour May 27 at Darien Center, N.Y., continuing to weave throughout North America with supporting acts Robert Randolph, Umphrey’s McGee, Old Crow Medicine Show, Switchfoot, Femi Kuti and the Hold Steady in tow. The tour will begin after the band’s previously announced spring dates, which start April 14 at New York’s Madison Square Garden.

DMB is rumored to be playing Boston’s Fenway Park on May 29-30, but a formal announcement regarding the gig has not yet been made. After its North American tour runs out, DMB will travel to Europe for a quick string of shows during late June and early July. Check online for Dave Matthews tickets.

Dave Matthews Band emerged as a pop-tinged answer to the Grateful Dead in the early ’90s after South African vocalist/guitarist Dave Matthews formed the band with Stefan Lessard, LeRoi Moore, Carter Beauford and Boyd Tinsley. DMB began its perpetual touring schedule early on in its career, paying particular attention to college campuses and securing a widening fan base along the way. After self-releasing Remember Two Things, major labels took notice and DMB eventually signed with RCA, releasing their major-label debut, Under the Table and Dreaming, in 1994. The album spawned hit single “What Would You Say” and went on to sell over four million copies in the U.S. alone. DMB garnered even more success with its next release, 1996’s Crash, which went platinum and yielded five charting singles including the infectious title track.

While on the brink of massive success, Matthews paired with the federal government to launch an attack on bootleggers, resulting in an unprecedented crackdown on the illegal activities in 1997. Also that year, DMB released the double-disc live effort Live at Red Rocks 8.15.95.

In 1998 DMB issued the ambitious studio album Before These Crowded Streets, followed by another live effort and a string of tour dates that led the band well into the new millennium. After stepping into the studio with Glen Ballard, DMB released its fourth studio album Everyday in 2001, and although it did well commercially the album’s release conflicted with rumors of a darker effort that the band recorded with Steve Lillywhite around the same time. Eventually, DMB released that material as Busted Stuff in 2002 and watched its debut single “Where Are You Going” top the charts.

Matthews released his moody debut solo album Some Devil in 2003 and then hit the road on the “Dave Matthews and Friends” tour his “friends” being Brady Blade, Ray Paczkowski, Tony Hall, Tim Reynolds and Phish’s Trey Anastasio. Matthews earned a Grammy for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance for his solo single “Gravedigger” and then teamed up with his band for another tour.

A new DMB studio album titled Stand Up arrived in 2005, the band’s first effort of new material since 2001’s Everyday. Stand Up landed atop the Billboard charts, making DMB the only band other than U2 to score four consecutive number one albums. A pair of live releases followed in subsequent years and Matthews toured Europe and North America with Reynolds throughout 2007.

DMB member LeRoi Moore unexpectedly passed away during the summer of 2008 while the band was working on their next album, after the saxophonist succumbed to injuries sustained during an ATV accident months earlier. Now that the new DMB album is completed, Dave Matthews Band tickets are sure to be in high demand so get yours soon!
