Cruise Vacations: Ideal For Relaxation

Friday 7 August 2009 @ 3:36 am

Cruises offer you a great value for the money you plan to spend on vacation. You will find that this all inclusive holiday offers sleeping accommodations, great food, entertainment, activities, and many ports of call. Visit an island, hop back on the ship, eat a wonderful dinner, plan your midnight snack for after the show and then rest in your luxurious stateroom, kept clean as a whistle by the staff.

Most of the cabins on the ship are inside staterooms which offer private showers and toilet, TV, comfortable bedding, love seat and dresser. The specials for these staterooms are excellent buys and you have all you really need. For some very special occasions you may want an outside cabin with a view of the magnificent sea. They rooms are premium cabins and do cost more. Consider your other treats you want to purchase and decide if the extra money should go into the cabin with a balcony. Family suites are also available.

Activities on board are practically ceaseless. There is always something to do or maybe you just want a lounge by the pool to listen to the music. The beautiful ocean provides enough entertainment of its own with the water glistening and passing ships floated out in the distance. You can partake in exercise sessions, art classes, dance classes, bingo, and many other planned activities arranged for your enjoyment. Days at sea are filled with fun!

There are tours on each island that can be purchased for a separate fee. There are cooking classes, horseback riding, golf, scuba diving and then the old-time “kind of free”… Shopping. Each island offers something different. Before disembarking, make sure you know what time to be back to the ship. Maybe you would like some extra time on Cozumel, but you will have to pay for your own transportation to catch up with the ship!

While the ship is in port, stay aboard if you wish. Many people disembark to visit the island. You are welcome to stay aboard, enjoy the spa or the pool, or just gaze at the port’s movements and people. If your partner goes ashore for golf, get a group of girls together to enjoy lunch out on the deck.

Early breakfast or room service is ideal if you have an early morning tour on one of the islands. Otherwise, a full breakfast is served around 7 am to 9 am. Open seating in the dining room for breakfast and lunch is available. The buffet hums with activity and the chefs are busy at breakfast making omelets and waffles for you to enjoy.

Dinner is an extravagance even when it is not formal night. The buffet will have the same delicious entrees… Just help yourself. Your waiters will call you by name and they will remain with you throughout the cruise when you have dinner in the main dining room. However, remember to enjoy room service also!

Relax or go wild, the cruise is your transportation to a wonderful time. Go home pampered and relaxed with terrific memories of your days at sea!

Cheap Cruises: Dreamed Trip or a Fraud Waiting to Happen?

Wednesday 5 August 2009 @ 2:38 pm

It is a nice afternoon and you are sitting comfortably, enjoying a good time at your home, and just when you think that things cannot go any better, the phone rings. It is a travel agent, letting you know that you just won a cruise trip! Sounds great, doesn’t it? Unfortunately, if something like this happens to you, most probably you are about to be conned.

There a lot of companies working hard to get your money, through scams and cons. One of them gives away cruises for free or at a very reasonable (or should I say unreasonable?) prices. It is important that you are aware that this scam is going on, so that you can avoid becoming a victim.

They way they work, is by calling you and telling you that you won a free cruise, or that you are eligible for a special offer. In both cases, either because they are charging you a small price for the cruise or because they claim that you need to pay only for the port fees, the agent will try to get your credit card information.

Once they have this information, they will be able to place any charges they wish to on to your credit card. If this is not the case, and you are actually offered a free cruise, be prepared for the worse experience in your life. Remember that nothing comes for free, so be sure that these people are on to something.

If you have never been on a cruise you are probably excited for this whole new experience. And if you have been on a cruise before, you are ready to enjoy some classy and elegant time. But you will be shocked when you see the ship you will be traveling on: A dirty and awfully smelly ship.

There is nothing classy about this free cruise, that is for sure. The food is terrible, the pools are shut down, the rooms are so small you can barely fit in them, and when you think it cannot go worse, the true colors of your free cruise are revealed. You are about to go through one of the worst scams ever.

You will be “asked” to attend a timeshared sales presentation. If you decide you do not want to, they will add up more charges to your credit card. They claim they work with Ramada Inn hotels, but it is not true. You will be staying at a hotel whose name includes the word Ramada, but they are definitely not Ramada Inn.

Plus, the hotels are fifteen miles from the beach, in an ugly and dangerous area. Of course, you cannot expect to get a refund. A lot of people tried to and were unsuccessful. So be aware, this is nothing else than a timesharing scam. You will end up spending a lot of money.

Most of their victims are currently working with attorneys and with the B.B.B, but where not successful in getting their money back yet. It is highly advisable that you do your research before accepting an offer for a cheap cruise; most probably it is a scam. Remember the old saying, if it is too good to be true, then it probably is.

Getting Geared Up For A Luxury Cruise

Wednesday 29 July 2009 @ 3:01 pm

You’re ready for a vacation, but you want this trip to be special. You don’t want to deal with the hassles of flying, and you’d rather not spend countless hours cooped up in your car on a long driving trip. Fortunately, there’s another option: luxury cruises.

Luxury cruises; trips with all the frills and extras that you could ever want; are steadily growing in popularity. Cruise numbers might be down because of the nation’s struggling economy, but there is still a market for them.

Booking a your own is a great way to chase away the stress of everyday living. Yes, luxury cruises are quite costly, but they come with gourmet meals, first-class entertainment and stops in colorful and busy world ports. You’ll be able to attend formal balls and preview first-run movies.

In short, luxury cruises are the ideal vacation for anyone looking for it all in one place.

Of course, many tourists shudder at the thought of actually booking a cruise vacation. They picture complicated packages. They imagine spending hours with travel agents poring over cruise options to find the right one.

The truth is, though, that it’s easier than ever to book a luxury cruise that will provide a lifetime of good memories. The reason for this: the internet, of course.

The web makes it easier than ever to shop for boat trips. Simply do a Google search on “luxury cruises” and you’ll turn up page after page devoted to high-end cruise packages. By studying these pages, you’ll quickly get a feel for what’s a good price and what’s not for a high-end travel vacation on the ocean. You’ll also gain valuable information on just what a cruise should include.

You can also use the internet to connect directly with the cruise line of your choice. Often, you’ll find great bargains, even on high end packages, on company web sites that aren’t advertised anywhere else.

Of course, just because you use the internet to find pricing on travel packages, that doesn’t mean you have to book your trip online. Many tourists don’t feel comfortable signing up for a cruise vacation through the web. Fortunately, after you do your online research, you can then work through your favorite travel agent to book a spot on a big liner of your choice. You’ll already be well-educated in the fundamentals of the cruising world by the time you meet with your travel agent.

This year, don’t hesitate to book a luxury cruise. It’s the perfect vacation for banishing the stress. You’ll thank yourself as soon as that magnificent cruise ship sails from port.

Inexpensive Cruises are a Realistic Getaway

Wednesday 15 July 2009 @ 7:46 pm

During these hard economic times the last thing someone might think they could afford would be a cruise. Fortunately, companies like Carnival have completely adjusted some of their old cruise fares to promote some fun, relaxing travel. As a result of these adjustments, prices have dropped across the board for many different cruise destinations, and unlocked the fabled “inexpensive cruise”. People are now finding themselves hunting for upcoming trips to a variety of their favorite tropical locales. Offers to all the major cruise “hot spots” like the Caribbean, Hawaii, and the Bahamas have all been significantly reduced in price. You’ve already been to Orlando, and this years road trip is starting to sound less appealing, maybe it’s time to visit the seven seas on a fun and relaxing inexpensive cruise getaway.

One thing to keep in mind when booking an inexpensive cruise are the expenses that you occur on board. Most cruises offer free buffets for the entire cruise that is included with your travel fee, these buffets include an incredible assortment of all types of foods with basically anything you want to drink. Cruise buffets, like Vegas buffets, are known as the best quality buffets in the world, and the best part is the food and drinks are completely covered!

Cruises are widely known for their casinos. Casino game play is obviously not free on your cruise and the best financial recommendation is to have a set gambling budget in mind. Board the ship knowing the amount you are willing to spend at the tables and DO NOT EXCEED this amount, play casually, have a good time and who knows, maybe you’ll be coming home from your cruise with all expenses paid.

Depending on which cruise you select, you may be stopping at some very fun, or very relaxing tropical locations. On these stops, you may want to have some money set aside for a good time, or souvenirs perhaps. Some cruises stop in bays where there are entire cities of inflated jump pads and obstacle courses where you or your kids could have fun for hours. Other cruises stop in tropical ports where you can venture out and explore some of the exotic lifestyles and culture, the opportunities for fun and relaxation are truly endless on a well planned inexpensive cruise.

It is not unreasonable to think that you can go on a cruise for very little additional cost on top of your ticket fare, and remember, ticket fares have been dramatically reduced across the board. There are even more resources to help you save money when planning your inexpensive cruise getaway, for example cruise dollars. You can find free cruise dollars (money you can use anywhere on a cruise) on many different cruise websites. Cruise dollars can pay for alcohol, gambling, souvenirs, you name it. Anything you can find that you can spend money on during your cruise, cruise dollars cover it. If you plan smart, and save smart, you can really travel the seas in luxury for almost ridiculously low prices on an inexpensive cruise getaway.

Doug Preston maintains a carnival cruise review, and enables his readers to vote for their favorite carnival vacation destinations.
