Accept Business Credit Cards - Empower Your Business and Your Clients

Monday 10 August 2009 @ 1:51 am

Businesses today are increasingly making use of business credit cards to transact, both as vendors and as buyers. This trend in spite, there are still a number of vendors who do not accept business credit cards from their business clientele. The truth of the matter is that if such a vendor wishes to achieve higher trading volumes and increase its client base, accepting business credit cards changes from being an optional, to a must.

Accounts receivable is not only a nasty trap, but also creates a vicious cycle. Vendors that do not accept business credit cards, often agree to extending credit to their clients in order to retain their custom. Although this may be a necessary business practice, it does place unnecessary strain on the business finances: Unnecessary, because by accepting business credit cards, you can retain your clients and mitigate your cash flow risk at the same time.

The benefits of accepting business credit cards are numerous and include:

Boost Your Sales: When your clients are in a position to purchase what they want immediately, most of them will. When they make that immediate purchase, your sales are boosted. A simple browse - either in your store or on your web site - may turn into a profitable visit if you enable your clients to make payments with their business credit cards.

Bolster Your Cash Flow: Many merchants who do not have sufficient cash flow with which to support growth, may be victims of high accounts receivables. One of the quickest ways to free your business from this trap is to start accepting business credit cards. Stop billing your clients and start billing their banks instead! When you accept business credit cards, the revenue from the sale will reach your bottom line much sooner than accounts receivables would.

Put Smiles on Your Clients Faces: Clients obtained their business credit cards for a variety of good business reasons and will want to use these. Don’t allow your clients to find alternative suppliers purely because your business is not able to process business credit card transactions. When business clients are searching for a supplier, and they want to pay by means of their business credit cards, they will search until they find a supplier who does. Accepting business credit cards places you in the running for their business and that is a good place to be!

Put Smiles on Your Financial staffs Faces: Your accounting department will be very happy when you decide to accept business credit cards as payment for purchases. They will be freed from the hassles of paperwork and the headaches of collecting all your accounts receivables on time. If one compares the collection of outstanding accounts from many of different clients to collecting from the relatively few merchant services that issue business credit cards, the latter is a walk in the park.

Accepting business credit cards may be necessary to enhance and grow the business relationship you enjoy with your clients. It affords your clients the opportunity to make use of their preferred method of payment and liberates you from the accounts receivable trap at the same time.

A Beginner’s Guide To Bad Credit - What Does Your Credit Rating Say About You?

Monday 10 August 2009 @ 1:34 am

If you’ve ever experienced financial problems in the past then the chances are that any mistakes you’ve made (whether you know you’ve made them or not!) will be recorded on your credit record. In many cases these mistakes will occur as a result of financial problems you may have experienced but often you can get a bad credit history without really doing anything wrong.

The majority of problems that will give you a bad credit record will happen if you have problems managing your finances. So, if you miss a credit card payment, default on your mortgage, are declared bankrupt or are given a CCJ (county Court Judgement) against you for one reason or another then this will all show up on your credit rating, for example. These kinds of issues will all count as negatives.

But, other issues can give you bad marks on your credit rating. For example, simple factors like your marital status and whether you have children can give you plus or minus points. The fact is that it isn’t just what you do with your money that comes up on your credit rating you can have a rating that is less than perfect from a lenders point of view even if you have never had a financial problem before in your life!

But, there is a key issue here no matter where your bad credit rating came from. If you have a less than perfect credit score then you look less attractive to lenders when it comes to taking out loans and other forms of finance. The first thing that the majority of lenders will do when you apply for a loan is to look at your credit rating if they don’t like what they see then they could well turn you down flat. And, things could then go from bad to worse as every rejection that you get when you apply for finance also goes on your credit rating!

Luckily, most lenders will take a better view of bad credit ratings now than they may have done in the past. And, if you find that a mainstream lender won’t deal with you on this basis, then you need to remember that you do have other options when it comes to taking out loans. There is now a whole sector of the lending industry that solely specialises in working with consumers with bad credit so it may be that these specialists will be better placed to help you out.

One last tip don’t let your bad credit rating cause you further financial problems. Some bad credit specialists have muscled into the market with high interest rates and deals that are not as good as they could be. But, there are hundreds of reputable lending sources that you can work with the key is just to find them. This is made much easier nowadays if you online to compare rates and deals. Your key aim here is to get the lowest interest rates and the fairest deals you can after all, you don’t want to make a bad situation worse!

7 FAQs When You Apply for a Credit Card

Monday 10 August 2009 @ 1:34 am

There are so many credit cards out there to choose from that deciding which one to get can feel really daunting. What makes one offer better than the hundreds of others you’ve seen? Here are top 7 FAQs to finding the right credit card:

1. Are You a Student?

If you are, then you’ll be better off with a student card. Your application is likely to get accepted without problems. It would be best to contact the bank where you have your student account before you do anything else.

2. Are You Transferring a balance from another credit card?

If you are, then you need to be looking for a card with a low APR on balance transfers. APR is the acronym for Annual Percentage Rate. APR is the cost of credit, expressed as a yearly interest rate. However, do be careful of credit card offers that promise 0% introductory rates for say 6 to 9 months. There may be a catch somewhere!

3. Do You intend to Make New and Large Purchases?

If so, then pay more attention to the APR for purchases, which is usually entirely different to the one for balance transfers. You should also look at what kind of grace period different cards offer, so you don’t end up paying interest on your purchases straight away.

Also called a “grace period,” a free period lets you avoid finance charges for a specified time before you are required to start paying your balance. Without a free period, the card issuer may impose a finance charge from the date you use your card or from the date each transaction is posted to your account. If your card includes a free period, the issuer mails your bill at least 14 days before the due date so you’ll have enough time to pay.

4. Do You Pay Off Your Balance In Full Every Month?

If you have a lot of money or you only keep a credit card for emergencies, then you might just pay it all off each time you get the bill. If you do, then you’re in a position where you obviously don’t need to worry about the interest rate much at all, since you won’t be paying any interest (make sure theres a grace period, though).

5. Do You Need to consider Other fees?

Many issuers charge annual membership or participation fees. Some issuers charge a fee if you use the card to get a cash advance, make a late payment, or exceed your credit limit. Some charge a monthly fee whether or not you use the card.

6. Need Good Customer Service Support by the Issuing Bank?

This can be an important factor especially in situations of lost card or a charge that you wish to dispute. You want customer service support that is friendly and helpful. Choose a reputable bank that has excellent call center help.

7. Which Reward Program is suitable?
You may wish to consider the card that offers you the best reward programs or frequent flyer points for your needs.

In conclusion, there will be plenty of offers of credit card deals and “pre-approved” credit card application forms in your mail. However, do take the time to shop around for the right credit card for yourself.

A Credit Card Can Sing A Christmas Carol

Monday 10 August 2009 @ 1:27 am

Christmas Time, Mistletoe and Wine How many times have you heard this so far and its only November? A few I’ll bet, but with Christmas seemingly becoming earlier to us each year, we will no doubt feel the need to get ahead with our present and food buying. This though only leads to us spending more than we should. This is because with the shops full of decorations and Christmas tunes, the stores are dictating to us that we have to buy our gifts now, which will mean by the time December has come and gone. We would have spent more over the 2-month period that the shops have been full of Christmas cheer.

This is not all bah! Humbug.

Personally for the occasion alone and seeing the kids faces when they open their presents on Christmas morning, as Christmas is a special time of year that for the day makes all the preparation and spending all worth while.

But that doesn’t mean that it comes without cost and in some cases more of a cost than folk can ill afford. For all of its pomp and occasion, Christmas can come at a heavy price to bear for a lot of people who, rather than let their children and family down, will turn to the promise of riches that credit cards and store cards offer.

Don’t get me wrong, credit cards and even store cards, have their uses. This is only true though, if you only use them to your advantage, to get the best out of them. If you are thinking of taking one or the other, then the only suggestion that I can make is to plump for the credit card, over the store card.

We all want to enjoy this time of year, so by getting all that you want to do this and in doing so, save cash and not to fall heavily into debt, will make the festivities all the more enjoyable. So by giving you a few advantages and disadvantages, which credit cards and store cards entail, will hopefully go a long way on helping you make the right decisions.

Firstly the advantages of credit cards:

- More favourable interest rates than a store card.
- Many offers on the market, which are giving you an interest free period.
- Some come with money back schemes that give you a percentage of your expenditure back to you. (Usually between 0.5%- 2%)
- Will protect your gifts, as soon as you have bought them.
- Lets you buy now and pay at a later date, only on what you have spent without incurring any interest charges.

Now the disadvantages:

- Can lead you to spend more than you can afford to pay back, which in turn will lead to the interest being charged to your account.
- They can come with a heavy hit in the pocket, with charges for late payments and going over your credit limit.

Advantages of the store card:

- Can use them as soon as you are accepted for the card.
- Initial discount (normally 10% off you first purchase) will give you a saving straight away.

Disadvantages:

- Overly high interest rates, which are well above those of a credit card. Some can be as much as 30%.
- Can lead you quickly to debt, if they are not cleared at the end of each month.
- Sold to the customer, by assistants who know absolutely nothing about what they are selling.

Credit Repair Strategies For Collections

Sunday 9 August 2009 @ 5:37 pm

Credit repair offers a range of strategies for dealing with collections. Never again do you have to feel intimidated or harassed by collection letters or calls. Credit repair offers a dynamic approach to managing these difficult events effectively. These valuable credit repair techniques revolve around the legal leverage written into the Fair Debt Collection Practices. The law provides powerful responses to situations that many people face in the aftermath of financial difficulties. Without knowledge of your rights you may feel lost and helpless. But with these credit repair tools in hand you will be able to face down collectors with complete confidence and even gain the upper hand.

A Quick Response Can Pay Off

The moment of truth arises for most people with the receipt of a collection letter. Collectors are required to send a collection letter prior to reporting the account to the credit bureaus. Many people are so frightened by these letters that they ignore them and miss a golden credit repair opportunity to keep the account off their credit report and maybe even be rid of the collector once and for all. The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act requires collectors to validate a debt if you request it within 30 days of the date of the collection letter. If the collector cannot validate the debt they must not report the account to the credit bureaus and they must cease all collection efforts. But remember that you must request validation within 30 days.

Cantankerous Collection Calls

Collection phone calls add another dimension to the collection process, and it is not a pleasant one. Collectors are trained to be emotionally effective on the phone. Their words and demeanor are both calibrated to intimidate. But fear not, as there are very effective credit repair strategies for managing these uncomfortable phone calls. Collectors are not allowed to call you during business hours if you tell them that your boss does not approve, so it is easy to eliminate daytime collection calls with a quick avowal. One of our favorite common sense credit repair solutions to the aggressive collection call is to simply tell the collector that you do not discuss your finances over the phone. Just politely ask them to send you something in writing, and tell them that you will look into it and get back to them. They will fight to stay on the phone, but stand your ground and they will send a collection letter. And then you can send a validation request.

The Attorney Resolution

If you really do not want to deal with these issues and have the means to hire an attorney you can be rid of collectors in a matter of minutes. Once you tell a collector that you have an attorney they must ask for the attorney contact information and henceforth deal only with the attorney. This credit repair technique serves another purpose. Collectors will not use the same intimidation tactics with dealing with attorneys, and if their case is weak or they know that they do not have all of the documentation that an attorney would demand, they might never contact the attorney at all. And that is the end of their presence in your life. A happy moment indeed!

What Are Secured Credit Cards?

Friday 7 August 2009 @ 8:31 am

A secured credit card is nothing but another increasingly popular type of the credit cards. A secured credit card, as per the name, is secured. Actually, it is secured for supplier of the credit card.

The secured credit card requires you of opening an account, that too, with supplier of credit card and has certain amount of cash balance maintained in this account. Such cash balance would act as the security for secured credit card supplier.

The credit limit of yours is greatly dependent on amount held by you in account started with secured credit cards supplier. It is generally between 50 and 100% of account balance of yours. Hence, in such a situation, a secured credit card isn’t really a credit card (as no credit is actually offered). Due to this, a secured credit card is also at times called as debit card.

The basic concept

As every one of you might know, credit card debt has been one of the raising problems caused due to credit cards improper usage. People belonging to this category usually end up having credit rating of theirs spoilt to such an extent that another unsecured credit card can’t be availed by them any more. Note that an unsecured credit card is generally referred to as a credit card. Even after such people pay off dues and have their debt cleared, credit rating would still haunt them. Secured credit cards would, in actual sense, prove to be a boon for these people.

Opportunity

A secured credit card would not only offer people with bad credit score an opportunity of getting credit card in 1st place; but it would also help them in improving credit card rating of theirs by making use of secured credit card in a proper and disciplined way. As the good habits such as having paid dues from time to time, having a control over spending, not exceeding the credit limit beyond 70%, etc. would be continued, the credit rating would drastically improve with the passage of time. Therefore; secured credit cards would be providing them with means to rectify the mistakes committed by them in the past.

Mentality

It’s not only people having poor credit that opt for a secured credit card. Certain people opt for secured credit cards due to the reason that they do not wish of bothering themselves with bills with respect to credit cards. There are people not willing of filling up the application forms for the unsecured credit cards as well. The people not wanting of having money borrowed are also quite a few in number; even if that would mean having borrowed from supplier o credit card through the use of credit card. That’s why; they make up their mind of going for secured credit cards.

Most of the people in today’s world have the mentality stated above. That is the main reason behind the ever increasing popularity of secured credit cards. It’s always advisable to go for such cards, as they won’t let you down at the time of financial crisis.

Credit Card Process Helps your Business to Succeed

Wednesday 5 August 2009 @ 5:55 pm

Credit cards are easily the most popular way for people to purchase goods. Nearly everyone has a credit card or debit card of some type. If you do not allow customers to purchase your goods or services with a credit card, you could easily be losing income. There are multiple people who will not purchase from a place that does not allow credit card payments. They do not carry cash, and they do not have checks. Without the ability to pay with a credit card, they will not consider the purchase. The credit card process will be able to help your business to succeed.

Running Credit Cards
Running a credit card for payment is important for any successful business. The credit card system generally requires an Internet set-up. You need to be able to connect to a server that takes the information and insures that the credit card is in working order. Running a credit card is simple, but does require new technology. Many companies do not want to deal with the various aspects of running credit cards. The credit card process allows their customers to pay with whatever they would like. This could bring in new business and could make existing customers happier.

Running your Own Processing
Running your own credit card process does require a system. You must set up the system (generally connected through the internet) that reads the cards. It will require that you punch in the amount of the credit card purchase. It then will tell you whether or not the card is accepted. If the card is accepted, they are then charged for that amount. The company will receive the money for that specific charge. Unfortunately, running your own processing requires that you pay the credit card company. There is a specific charge each and every time that a credit card is used. The charge is placed on the company who is running the credit card, not on the consumer. Generally, this charge is translated to the consumer in other ways.

Exporting your Processing
There are other ways to be able to use credit cards without running your own processing. It is possible to export your processing to other people. You simple write down the credit card number and name, as well as the specific charge. You send the information (through various means) to a company who will process the cards for you. This will cost you even more than running your own processing, as you must pay for the initial charge as well as the charge for the company processing your card.

Running credit cards is barely even up for questoining for a business that wants to succeed. They need to make sure that they have every possible payment option for their customers. Allowing people to use their credit cards ensures that you are not missing out on any potential income. It may cost a little more, and may be a little more of a hassle, but it will be worth it in the long run. If you want to be successful, you simply cannot miss out on customers.

Bad Credit? Solve The Problem Before Applying For More Funds

Tuesday 4 August 2009 @ 12:17 am

Company’s or individual’s past debts, payments, and even bankruptcy are all recorded on his credit history. This can also be called “credit reputation”. All these information including all personal details are collected by the credit bureau and kept confidential unless for important purposes.

When applying for a credit card, credit from a store or bank, you are being asked to fill out an application form. All the information is then forwarded to the credit bureau for thorough checking if the information matches with the ones recorded by the credit bureau. That is why providing correct and true information to the bureau is very important.

The information is then used by credit card companies, stores or banks to know if a certain individual is worth lending for. That is determined by his history of payments, loyalty and willingness to pay new debt. And willingness can be determined by his consistent payment method. So to encounter no problem, always make sure you have a clean record. To avoid bad record, then you should start solving it when you feel a certain situation will result for you to unable paying. Always solve problems when it’s still starting to avoid bigger problems in the future.

But what are the causes of bad credit to some individuals? There are some reasons that cause bad credit. The most basic one is not paying on time. When it comes to these companies, there is no excuse why you would not be able to pay on time. They do not care whether you are sick or the bill had lost or if you lose your job, all they want is for you to pay on schedule. If you were not able to make it, your reasons will not be printed on your credit history.

Another reason is the charge off or when you forgot to pay, you did not pay, or anything that will make the company perceives that you do not intend to pay your bill, then they will put a negative on your credit history and will retain in there for seven years. For any reason for such action, you can ask for bad credit help to know what to do and what to know.

Loosing a job is one of the common causes for having a bad record. When you lose your job, spending your money in rent and food bills become the priority than paying it on debt. Health problems, illness or any accident may be reasons for credit difficulties. Decreased income from absences and increased expenses due to medicines and medical bills are factors of having a bad credit. Divorce and death of love ones are also factors for they increased expenses and decreased income of the family, adding the emotional suffering of the individual. In those times, possibility of losing track of the schedule of payments is greater.

And some people just have bad record because of their being irresponsibility when it comes to financial matter. Without prioritizing, they will buy a lot of anything on credit without thinking if they can really pay those on time or if they really have the resources to pay those. Some even use their loans for gamble or even buy drugs. Individual must always be careful and fix bad credit at once. Be responsible and know what and how to prioritize.
