Treating Carcinophobia - Fear Of Cancer - With Hypnotherapy

Monday 10 August 2009 @ 3:28 am

The fear of cancer, carcinophobia, is one of the top ten most common phobias, and it’s not hard to imagine why. No one wants to develop cancer or see a loved one suffering from it. Although it is normal to dread getting ill, people with cancer phobia experience an irrational amount of fear that often takes over their lives. Overcoming carcinophobia used to take months or even years, but with better knowledge of the phobia and treatment techniques, this is no longer the case. Proven hypnotherapy techniques can help sufferers reclaim their happiness and well-being.

It is easy to imagine what can cause carcinophobia. This fear is associated with a fear of illness, death, and loss of control. Many sufferers feel traumatized by a loved one’s experience with cancer. People who have lost a friend or family member to cancer, or are at risk of developing the disease, live in fear of the day when they are diagnosed with cancer.

The uncontrollable anxiety brought on by the fear of cancer may lead people to make extreme life decisions. Some people constantly visit doctors to confirm they are not ill, while others avoid doctor visits entirely, afraid of being diagnosed with a disease. People with the phobia will become depressed if they feel the slightest symptoms of illness, such as a headache, and worry that it’s cancer. They will often go to great lengths to avoid getting sick.

People with a fear of cancer often feel like they have a lot to be afraid of. It is a persistent fear that can strike both men and women. A person might worry, “Who will provide for the family if I get sick?” or agonize over other important issues. The phobia of cancer can be unbearable for sufferers and their families.

Many people can cope with their phobias by simply avoiding the source of their fear. People with arachnophobia can often get along by avoiding spiders, and people with claustrophobia are careful to avoid small, enclosed spaces such as elevators. Carcinophobia, however, is different. The phobia is primarily triggered by a person’s innermost thoughts and fears. It can be debilitating for a person to suffer from a fear they just cannot avoid. This leaves many people with the phobia in a constant state of anxiety.

There are many different phobia treatments available. Common ones include talk therapy and anti-anxiety medication. Traditional counseling can produce lasting results, but it often takes a long time, up to several years for some. Medication works to lessen a person’s anxiety, but it does not treat the underlying causes of a phobia. Hypnotherapy is another option that produces lasting results in a shorter period of time than other forms of treatment. It has become popular because it is a safe, non-invasive, and effective choice of treatment.

Hypnotherapy combines anxiety-relief techniques with fear dissociation to rapidly cure a phobia. A good program will begin with relaxation therapy to help alleviate the emotional stress caused by fear. Once a person feels relaxed and stress-free, hypnotherapy and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) techniques can guide the unconscious mind into adopting a new, phobia-free thought process.

Traditional hypnosis uses direct, post-hypnotic commands to eliminate a phobia. It can be very effective when a person is open to it. Unfortunately, these conventional techniques often prove ineffective because people tend to question what they are told and resist direct suggestions.

A deeply rooted phobia such as cancer phobia calls for a more sophisticated form of treatment such as Ericksonian hypnotherapy. This form of hypnosis works well for people who tend to be analytical, and who are suffering from chronic fear and anxiety. It uses indirect suggestions hidden in stories, metaphors, and conversations to help them overcome their fears.

NLP is a technology that doesn’t rely upon suggestion at all, so it can be effective for everyone. A simplified explanation is that NLP offers tools to train the unconscious mind to use the same exact thought patterns that are creating a symptom or problem, to eliminate it.

Because both hypnosis and NLP work at the unconscious level of the mind, clients report feeling much more empowered and comfortable through this these types of therapy.

With Traditional Hypnosis, programs generally need to be phobia specific. An additional benefit of a properly designed Ericksonian hypnosis and NLP programs is that they are designed to be used on any phobia, or even multiple phobias. This can be a great benefit to some carcinophobia sufferers who also have other anxiety disorders, such as general hypochondria or germophobia.

The fear of cancer is a serious phobia, but one that can be tackled by well designed hypnotherapy techniques. NLP techniques have become a leading phobia treatment because of its effectiveness at addressing the root of all phobias as well as the symptoms. Sophisticated Ericksonian hypnotherapy and NLP techniques can help even the most anxious phobia sufferers overcome their fears once and for all.

Treating Acrophobia - Fear Of Heights - With Hypnotherapy

Monday 10 August 2009 @ 3:25 am

The fear of heights, also known as acrophobia, is an extremely common phobia experienced by men and women of all ages. In fact, researchers have shown that to some extent, a fear of heights is natural to many people and animals. What turns a common fear of heights into a phobia is that the fear is so extreme that it is considered irrational, or it interferes with a person’s daily life. In an effort to avoid heights, people with acrophobia are often forced to avoid tall buildings, balconies, and other common areas and situations. In some individuals, the mere thought of heights can be enough to trigger an anxiety attack.

The fear of heights can be triggered in any elevated location that makes a person feel uneasy. This includes ladders, rooftops, staircases, roller coasters, bridges, and many other places we encounter in our daily lives. Some people with a phobia of heights may feel comfortable in some areas, like their own two-story home, but get scared in other situations, such as when they are climbing up a ladder.

Acrophobia can trigger very intense symptoms, including anxiety attacks, dizziness, nausea, fainting, shaking, sweating, and many others. Unlike some other common phobias, many people with a fear of heights do not respond by getting “hysterical,” but instead become “petrified” or frozen with fear. For instance, a person might climb up a ladder, but suddenly feel too nervous to climb down and become trapped this way.

Acrophobia can be particularly debilitating because sufferers may find themselves emotionally overwhelmed in situations where they need to stay calm and relaxed in order to stay safe. People who find themselves in a high up place, such as the top of a staircase or a ladder, may suffer a panic attack resulting in an injury. Or, a person might start trembling so hard that they risk falling and getting hurt. It is thus important for people whose acrophobia is potentially dangerous to get treatment for their condition.

In the past, treatments included repeatedly exposing a person to heights so they could try to “face their fear.” This approach proves traumatic and ineffective for most people. Other, more successful treatments include anti-anxiety medication and therapy. Hypnotherapy is a particularly good treatment because it is safe, effective, and non-invasive.

Traditional hypnosis works by using direct post-hypnotic suggestions to “tell” people what to do. In this day and age, this method often proves ineffective. These days, people tend to be independent thinkers and will resist direct suggestions by unconsciously rejecting their instructions. Experienced hypnosis practitioners now use more sophisticated Ericksonian hypnotherapy techniques to circumvent this problem.

Ericksonian hypnotherapy, as developed by Milton Erickson, MD, is a much more effective form of hypnosis than conventional methods. It uses indirect suggestions hidden in stories, metaphors, and conversation to guide the unconscious mind into a new, phobia-free thought process. This works because it is much harder for the unconscious to resist suggestions hidden in a dialog, than direct post-hypnotic suggestions that are apparent to the conscious mind.

A good hypnotherapy program combines a multitude of different techniques to ensure its effectiveness for every individual. The combination of several Ericksonian hypnotherapy and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) techniques is perfect for virtually everyone trying to rid him or herself of a phobia.

The combined program begins with a relaxation therapy session. Once your mind is calm and clear, NLP techniques can be applied to eliminate a phobia. All phobias stem from the same type of thought process, so all it takes is a single hypnotherapy program with the correct formulation to vanquish any phobia, or even multiple phobias.

Summary: Many forms of therapy rely on conscious effort to resolve a phobia, but this often does not work because phobias are rooted deep within the unconscious mind. The techniques available in Ericksonian hypnotherapy and NLP are particularly good at curing phobias because they operate at this unconscious level. Phobias are triggered when the emotion of fear is unconsciously connected to a mental image, such as looking down from a high place. By separating or disassociating the feeling of fear from the image, certain hypnotic and NLP techniques can permanently cure a phobia very rapidly.

Hypnotherapy sessions can help a person quickly and easily conquer a fear of heights. It is one of the safest forms of phobia treatments available, with no negative side effects. For people looking to overcome acrophobia or any other anxiety disorder, hypnosis offers a well-balanced form of stress-free phobia relief.

Eczema Flare Ups: What They Are; How to Prevent Them

Monday 10 August 2009 @ 3:20 am

Eczema is an itchy, aggravating skin condition that results in irritated, red, thickened and scaly skin. While there is no cure for eczema, having eczema is not a 24-hour 7-day a week sentence. The symptoms associated with eczema occur in cycles with periods of flare ups followed by periods of relief.

During an eczema flare up, the skin becomes extremely irritated and the skin rash described above occurs. Some of the most common places for flare ups to occur are on the face, elbows, knees, wrists, hands, chest, neck, and ankles. Most often these flare ups are most severe in the folds of skin such as on the inside of the elbow or the back of the knee.

As mentioned before, there is no cure for eczema. So the treatment course for eczema is to prevent flare ups and to lessen their severity when they do occur. This is done through a combination of medication and behavioral changes.

Since eczema is triggered by things in the environment, the best course for treatment is to avoid things that trigger eczema flare ups. While no two people’s triggers will be exactly the same, there are some triggers that are pretty common among eczema patients: soaps, perfumes, smoke, paints, pollen, pets, sweat, fabrics like wool, and food allergies.

In addition to avoiding triggers, proper skin care and lifestyle and diet guidelines are also needed to avoid eczema flare ups. You may also need to use certain medications to keep your eczema under control.

Skin Care - The key to preventing eczema flare ups through skin care is to avoid any skin contact with your known triggers and by making sure that your skin is properly moisturized at all times. Take cooler, shorter showers to prevent drying, and drink plenty of water. A humidifier might also be a great idea especially during the cold, dry winter months. Be sure to wear loose, soft clothing that does not irritate your skin. Wear sunscreen and avoid activities that will result in heavy sweating.

Diet and Lifestyle - Since 10 percent of all eczema sufferers experience flare ups due to food allergies, it might be a good idea to find out what foods you are allergic to and avoid them until you narrow down the ones, if any, that are contributing to your eczema flare ups. You should also avoid other things that you know that you are allergic to as they could be contributing to your eczema problem. Pay attention to the weather and take care of your skin accordingly. Stay indoors on overly hot days and bundle up on cold ones to prevent flare ups.

In addition to all of this, take all of your medications and use all of your creams as prescribed. While it may be easy to become lazy during periods of relief, you may avoid more flare ups by sticking to your prevention routine. And remember what they say, “An ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure.”

What Are The Most Important Health Related Fitness Components?

Friday 7 August 2009 @ 7:31 pm

Can you even think about fitness after losing your health? Depending on your diagnosis, the loss of your health may have you feeling like you have one foot in the grave.

When your legs are shaking and you can’t make it to the bathroom before your bowels are firing, fitness is the last thing on your mind. That’s because sleep is the only strength builder available to you.

Once you have reached a place of stable balance, you start to feel restless… Ants in your pants! You think you need to shake off your laziness and get back to being YOU.

Problem is, your butt is dragging, yes? So, … what can you do to get your butt off the floor and get back to feeling more like yourself?

For starters, be aware that the restless feeling is an indicator that you are needing to do some house cleaning. Your system is overloaded with waste.

* When you are ill, there just isn’t enough energy to keep up with the accumulation of toxicity that stimulates and irritates your system.

* You feel grouchy and irritable, you just can’t get comfortable, maybe you’re a bit feverish off and on…

* You are dealing with a stock pile of yuck, that you need to get rid of.

You can bet that cleaning up your system (detox) is one of those very important health related fitness components… because until you can calm the restlessness, you can’t rest. Ever find yourself so tired you couldn’t sleep?

*?* Very important tip you don’t want to miss: All insight and all healing are found in stillness. Until you catch up with accumulated waste, you can’t rest and you can’t be still!

What is the best way to reduce this waste build up so that you can get comfortable and rest?

1. Take a long hot bath to help eliminate toxicity as well as hydrate through your skin. Add epsom salt to the bath to aid in relaxation.

2. Sleep as much as possible, use supplemental phosphorous and rest if you can’t sleep.

3. Go on walks in the fresh air, but don’t over do it.

4. Drink plenty of water. If you are ordered by your health care practitioner to limit fluids, then make ALL your beverages WATER. (room temperature is much better than cold)

5. Take long slow cleansing breaths frequently throughout the day.

6. Drink fresh fruit and vegetable juices, and let them be your meal until the restlessness subsides. (from the juicer not the can)

7. MAKE SURE your blood oxygen level is AT LEAST 92% at ALL times! Use supplemental oxygen if necessary to prevent harm.

Once your strength returns, you are likely to go back to old habits. Promise me that you will go right now to your journal and record exactly how you feel.

Really give it some reflection. How DO you feel? … Now, make up your mind to be well, and to nurture and value your health from this day forward. You MUST take care of yourself or you will suffer the consequences. Health is not an entitlement, it is something to be cultivated.

Do you understand why you got sick in the first place? There may be many variables that are contributing to illness in your situation. However, every action you take towards building health is a step in the right direction! It’s as simple as that!

Severe GERD Symptoms That Should Not Be Ignored

Thursday 6 August 2009 @ 5:33 pm

Gastroesophageal reflux disease (acid reflux) or GERD is one of the foreseeable curses caused by modern day lifestyle where irregularities prove more prominent than normal behavior pattern. The esophagus that carries our food from the mouth to the door of the stomach has a one way valve, colloquially called a sphincter, to allow the foodstuff to enter into the stomach only and not vice versa. But years of unhealthy lifestyle, consumption of food and drink that are positively harmful for the body has turned that faithful valve to loosen up, occasionally spilling some of the acidic stomach content up through the esophagus in a reflux form when all hell breaks lose. Although the stomach has been provided with ample mucus coating to counteract the strong hydrochloric acid that is secreted by the body for digestion purpose, the poor esophagus has no such protective coating to safeguard its sensitive walls against the acidic stomach residue. As a result, the esophagus gets badly irritated and the affected person feel as if his/her innards are all aflame. This is how the much talked about “heartburn” is born.

Sensitive, health conscious people, as soon as they are diagnosed with acid reflux, go for treatment of this distressing disease condition but others often ignore the situation as “heartburns” come and go with change of food, change of season and even change of mood. But this negligence creates severe GERD symptoms that may include inflammation and bleeding in the esophagus, development of esophageal ulcers, dysphagia, gastro-intestinal bleeding, odynophagia, iron- deficiency anemia, choking and chest pain. Moreover, longer delay in the treatment of GERD can cause narrowing of the esophagus because of scar tissue formation as also carcinoma. Severe GERD symptoms also include Barrett’s esophagus that often lead to cancer. It has been estimated that around one in hundred who have severely damaged esophagus lining succumb to cancer at an early age. Mistreated or neglected GERD has reportedly been responsible for Pulmonary Fibrosis and other complications of the respiratory system.

Apart from unhealthy lifestyle that frequently gives rise to gastroesophageal reflux disease, GERD often turns severe since its diagnosis involves exhaustive tests and investigations that people generally try to avoid. Also, the severity of some of its symptoms usually goes away with the administration of simple antacids that are available as over-the-counter medications all over the country. On top of that is the newly developed, habit forming acid suppressing drugs that tend to keep gastroesophageal reflux disease in a dormant state, only to come out in a more virulent form whenever such drugs are temporarily withdrawn.

Yet another case of severe acid reflux symptom concerns hiatus hernia heartburn. Though not very common, this type of GERD heartburn is a health hazard and should be treated at the earliest. Unfortunately, hiatus hernia is a frequently misunderstood condition which occurs when a person’s stomach muscle moves in an upward direction through a distended hiatus. In fact, there are three different forms of hiatus hernias of which the first type is the sliding hiatus hernia. This occurs when a portion of the stomach that has come up through the hiatus slides back and forth through the chest cavity. This type of hiatus hernia is rather harmless. So is the second type. However, the third form of hiatus hernia which is known as Serious Hiatus Hernia where the entire stomach moves up in the chest creates severe GERD symptoms that involve continuous heartburn and chest pain till the complication is reversed.

Severe acid reflux symptoms need to be taken care of early. But luckily, there are holistic remedies that can treat the body as a whole and identify all the contributing factors and then can eradicate them all. Holistic remedies treat the root causes of GERD and not just the symptoms, and this is why the problem is solved for good. The GERD never again comes back with holistic remedies.

Steam Vaporizers - For Young and Healthy Skin

Thursday 6 August 2009 @ 1:35 pm

There are thousands of products on the market promising younger-looking and healthier skin. There are creams and lotions, pills and even injections all ranging in cost from economy to very pricey. Some of these are effective in the slowing and reversing of the aging process, and some are just “snake oil” remedies with no visible results. One process that will rejuvenate the body’s largest organ, the skin, is a steam vaporizer. This is a very affordable and effective way to combat the signs of aging in a natural and healthy manner. Combined with other products, a steam vaporizer will have immediate results in the improved look and feel of the skin.

When you hydrate your skin with a steam vaporizer, the pores are opened. Sweating, although not always a desirable condition; is the perfect situation in the processes of skin rejuvenation. As the pores open the sebum that is built-up and the impurities that are trapped are released from the skin. As these two undesirables move out of the body, the dead skin cells are softened, sloughed off, and replaced with new, healthy skin cells. As a result, the skin will feel softer and appear younger.

A steam vaporizer is also the perfect skin preparation treatment for readying the surface for moisturizing. As the pores open, the surface cells and the deeper layers of skin become more receptive to creams and lotions and the hydrating properties of these products. The proper moisturizer with vitamins and minerals will penetrate more effectively if applied after a steam treatment. Following the application of a cream or lotion, the steam also helps to seal in those vital skin nutrients for a longer lasting effect. This allows the absorption and processing of all the healthful nutrients required for younger looking skin.

The frustration of dry skin and wrinkles can also be addressed with the use of steam vaporizers. During the process, the blood supply to the skin in increased. This results in an increase in fluids and the enhanced development of collagen. These are two crucial ingredients to younger looking skin that are lost with advancing age. Steaming of the skin on a regular basis will keep it hydrated with the increase of fluids and collagen, which combat the appearance of wrinkles and alleviate dry skin. By cleansing and preparing the skin for additional healthy products, and keeping a regular routing of stimulation, you can fight the effects of aging and enhance the overall health of your skin.

Steam Vaporizers and Respiratory Therapy

Thursday 6 August 2009 @ 1:32 pm

Some form of respiratory symptom unfortunately accompanies many of the illnesses suffered by human beings. There are even seasons of the year that are termed “flu and cold season” due to the prevalence of large numbers of sufferers. Added to these recurring instances of sickness are the global concerns for the more serious viruses of Swine Flu and Bird Flu. All of these germs bring the discomfort and dangers associated with respiratory infections that threaten the very air we breathe. A steam vaporizer can be utilized for the relief of symptoms and the actual prevention of contracting these uncomfortable and potentially dangerous illnesses.

Additionally, people who have chronic troubles with asthma, bronchitis, allergies and sinusitis can reap the benefits of steam vaporizers. Although these conditions may not be the result of germs, the symptoms are just as uncomfortable and can even be more severe for some sufferers. A steam vaporizer will provide the relief for the chronic conditions and the illnesses by working with the body in several ways. The upper respiratory membranes become inflamed and congested when battling these conditions. The steam therapy relieves both of these unhealthy symptoms allowing the person to simply breathe better.

A steam vaporizer also has been proven to relieve the spasmodic breathing and persistent coughing that often accompany asthma, the croup and many other respiratory concerns. This cough suppression is crucial to the overall healing process as a continual and intense cough is traumatic to the different parts of the respiratory system, as anyone with a persistent cough knows. The steam vaporizer therapy accomplishes this while loosening the excessive amounts of mucous in the throat and lungs at the same time. This natural stimulation of discharge is the ideal manner to rid the body of this unwanted condition.

Often people choose to combat the symptoms of respiratory illnesses and conditions through the use of decongestants or antihistamines. While these offer short-term results, they can also have the side effects of drying out the throat and nasal passages. A steam vaporizer offers the same results without this unhealthy side effect. It will actually moisturize the throat and mucous membranes while still alleviating the symptoms. The American Journal of Medicine has conducted many studies on the use of steam for these conditions and the results are clear. The simple treatment of steam therapy results in the improvement of breathing for those suffering respiratory ailments and conditions.

Use a Steam Vaporizer for Muscle Pain Relief

Thursday 6 August 2009 @ 1:30 pm

There are many reasons the body experiences pain. If you are on an exercise regimen, a likely side effect will be muscle soreness. If you have had an injury, you likely have pain during recovery. There are even systems and processes in the body that can have pain and discomfort as side effects. Often the unfortunate byproduct of stress is some form of pain. Also, certain conditions carry chronic pain. For all these situations, a steam vaporizer can offer the comfort and alleviation of the discomforts of pain. It has been a process utilized for thousands of years for many reasons, one of which is the return of the body to balance that alleviates pain.

When you exercise, or change your physical routine, you will likely feel soreness in the muscles. Even if you have a regular routine, you likely experience some form of muscle ache. Even though the reasons for this are a matter of dispute among scientists, the use of steam therapy will combat these effects. A steam vaporizer will reduce this effect in as little as one session with the results lasting up to several days. The mechanisms of the process occur as the heat relaxes the muscles and dilates the capillaries. This results in increased blood flow and heightened oxygenation of the tissues. The relaxation and increased oxygen make the muscles more flexible thereby reducing the stiffness, aches and pains.

The use of steam vaporizers has been very effective in the reduction of pain in the low back. The low back is the number one area where patients complain of pain and have the highest instances of injury. Therapy in this area works the same way it does in other muscular areas of the body. Steam is often recommended on a daily basis during the onset of low back pain to keep the circulation going and reduce the patient’s discomfort. It also has the added bonus of facilitating the healing process.

There are certain processes within the body that cause pain and will respond well to steam vaporizer treatment. The discomfort associated with menstrual cycles is one of these areas. Steam has been used as a relief for cramping muscles for hundred of years, and still proves to be one of the best natural remedies for this common occurrence. Another systemic situation that can be relieved with this therapy is digestive disorders and their resulting pains. There is no need to suffer the aches and pains of activity, injury or daily life when steam vaporizers offer the needed relief.

For Joint Pain Relief Try a Steam Vaporizer

Thursday 6 August 2009 @ 1:30 pm

With the onset of age may come an unwelcome and unpleasant increase in aches and pains. These can be the result of injury, to which we are more prone in our later years, or a chronic condition such as arthritis or rheumatism. Regardless of the cause, a steam vaporizer will offer the opportunity for relief of the painful symptoms. It also has been shown to enhance the healing processes for injuries and reduce the symptoms associated with chronic conditions. Steam therapy is a natural process that augments what your body is working to achieve, which is a return to balance and good health.

When the joints in the body experience an injury or are plagued with a chronic condition such as arthritis or rheumatism they send pain signals to the brain. These signals indicate that the desired balance within the tissues has been compromised and the joint is attempting to correct the disparity. A steam vaporizer assists the process by dilating the blood vessels and allowing an increase in the amount of oxygen-rich blood to enter the area. This results in reducing the pain and speeding the healing or reducing the symptoms. It also allows the body to carry away metabolic waste products at a faster rate, which also speeds the healing process.

The surrounding muscles are also positively affected by the use of a steam vaporizer. Muscles relax when they are warm so they become less painful in the affected area. As often happens with joint pain and imbalance, the surrounding muscles respond to the situation in the form of muscle aches or muscle spasms. These secondary symptoms, or referred pains as they are termed, will also respond in a healthy and positive manner to the steam therapy. This allows the whole system in the area to work in cooperation with each other to speed healing and reduce pain.

Specifically in the cases of arthritis and rheumatism, recently termed fibromyalgia, steam vaporizers have been particularly effective with pain relief. These terms are used to describe over 200 different conditions that affect the joints and connective tissues of the body, and steam therapy can be safely used for symptom relief in a great number of them. For these conditions, mobility is also a concern and a commonly accompanying symptom. It has been shown that this treatment alleviates pain and increases joint mobility in 40% to 70% of the patients who use steam therapy on a regular basis.

Cool Mist Vaporizers Versus Steam Vaporizers

Thursday 6 August 2009 @ 1:28 pm

A cool mist vaporizer is a small, electronic device that has a reservoir to hold water, a drum to spin the water, and a spout to spray the water droplets into the air. There is no heating element in a cool mist vaporizer, so the water is room temperature when it is dispersed. Those who suffer from asthma or respiratory infections find a cool mist vaporizer very helpful, as it adds moisture to the air and provides relief to breathing discomfort.

Cool mist vaporizers do not use a heat source, so they are safe to use in a child’s room. Vaporizers provide relief from congestion associated with the common flu, colds, and other respiratory ailments. Although steam vaporizers also provide this relief, they get extremely hot and have a high risk of burning the user. Children may accidentally bump into the vaporizer or pull it over, and risk being seriously injured. Cool mist vaporizers offer a safe alternative to the steam vaporizer.

Cool mist vaporizers come in a variety of shapes and designs. To appeal to children, some manufacturers design them in the shapes of animals, vehicles, or cartoon characters. The cool mist vaporizer is relatively inexpensive and easy to operate, as it does not contain a heating element.

Some health care professionals recommend steam vaporizers over cool mist vaporizers, as they can harbor bacteria and disperse minerals that are naturally found in our water supply. To avoid bacteria growth, the cool mist vaporizer should be cleaned after each use with soap and water. All parts of the vaporizer need to be cleaned and dried thoroughly, including the reservoir, the drum, and the spout. Using distilled water in the vaporizer eliminates the risk of minerals being dispersed into the air. The drawbacks of a cool mist vaporizer can be easily avoided, and the user does not need to worry about burn injuries.

Cool mist vaporizers are designed to humidify only one room of your home and not the entire household. They are most commonly used in the bedroom, where breathing relief can be provided while you sleep. During the winter months, the air lacks moisture and can irritate those who suffer from sinusitis, allergies, and other problems caused by dry indoor air. A cool mist vaporizer is an effective way to naturally relieve these symptoms by adding moisture to the air.

Cool mist vaporizers can also be used to scent the air, in the same way that a steam vaporizer does. The benefits of aromatherapy can be enjoyed without the danger of burns. These vaporizers can be used to freshen the air or to ease congestion. During the hot summer months, a steam vaporizer will add humidity and heat to the air. Because the air is already warm and humid, you can use a cool mist vaporizer instead and still get the same benefits.

Cool mist vaporizers are readily available, and can be purchased over the internet, at major retailers, drug stores, baby stores, and in toy stores. Cool mist vaporizers are ideal if you suffer from allergies or if you simply want to freshen the air in your home with a new scent.
