Come on guys! You can do better than that! Even though women do love to get candy and flowers for some occasions from the man they love, it can get a little tiresome after the first few times. Most women worry too much about their weight to eat an entire box of chocolates guilt free and flowers, no matter how beautiful and expensive, will not look so hot after a few days. Why spend money for a gift that will be eaten and gone or on flowers that die and are gone when you have already done it to death.

Maybe it is about time that you put just a little more though and effort into picking out a gift for your girl that really says that you know who she is and what she likes. It might not be as hard as you think. We are not necessarily talking about clothes her because that it something that women had usually rather pick themselves, but that does not mean there are not a lot more things out there to choose from. There are figurines, statues, paintings and prints. There are decorative bowls and vases. Even colorful throw pillows that will make a bed beautiful or a sofa more comfortable could make a great gift.

What you must do beforehand is to know what style of things your wife or girlfriend likes the most. If your lady likes antiques and frilly things around the home, then you should stick with more feminine looking objects. If you girl is a little more modern, then an abstract design in whatever you buy might be more in line with her taste. What is important is that you picked it out for her or at least try to. There is no shame in seeking help from other family or friends to make sure you do not buy her something that she will likely hate.

The fact alone that you took the time to buy something for her that required special effort and thought, will definitely impress her even if she is not that crazy about the gift itself. It is so easy to grab a box of candy and order up a dozen roses and have them delivered, but going the extra mile to pick something special is always appreciated. If you are not that inclined to go from store to store searching through hundreds of items, try doing in on line. Women everywhere have taken to on line shopping like ducks in water and there is absolutely no reason that men can not enjoy the convenience of ordering merchandise on the Internet. Oh yeah, just remember to keep your sales receipt in case she wants to return or exchange the gift and try not to be too offended if she does!
